BIOGRAPHY

Alison is a fine exponent of traditional music and leads a very successful Scots Fiddle and Song career. She has taken part in many prestigious events including the Opening of the Scottish Parliament, singing the Scottish National Anthem at Scotland International Rugby Games, performing alongside the Red Hot Chilli Pipers at the Finale of the Burns ‘n a’ That Festival.             

 Alison’s debut album “Celtic Magic” was released in December 2008.

Alison has led a glittering student career at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and is a Classically trained violinist and soprano with a vast knowledge of the folk music of Scotland, Ireland, the Flamenco style of Spain and the Bluegrass style of America. She is in great demand as a solo performer, session musician, composer, teacher and has her own ceilidh band called Reely Jiggered.

Her technique and unique flair for folk music has taken her all round the UK, Spain and America and Mexico.

In Traditional Scottish music she won the gold badge at the Royal National MOD, appearing on television singing her winning song and has led the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in the Royal Concert Hall. She has performed and adjudicated at many Burns Events including International Burns Conferences, Cultural events for the Nazrul/Burns Centre where she appeared on Bangladeshi Television and solo fiddler with the South West Texas Symphony Orchestra.

As a busy Corporate Entertainer, Alison has performed for companies such as BAE Systems Ltd, ExxonMobil Corporation and the National Trust for Scotland in venues such as Glasgow City Chambers and Stirling Castle to standing ovations.

Alison is in great demand as fiddle and voice teacher and directs her own Fiddle Workshops for Adults and Children. She also hosts her own Radio Show on Radio MOD every October.
